Volunteers are needed to assist with the Stafford County Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Leprechaun Leap One Mile Youth Trail Run. This event will be held at John Lee Pratt Memorial Park in southern Stafford Count y on Saturday, October 30th. The park is located on 120 River Road in Falmouth. The event will begin at 9:00 AM and conclude at 10:00 AM. Volunteers are needed from 8 AM - 11 AM.

Volunteers are need for trail marshals, check-in, and awards booth.

Trail marshals will be located throughout the course to assist children with directions.

Check-in volunteers will assist with packet distribution and assisting children.

Award volunteers will assist with the refreshment area, finish line, and award presentations.

We coordinate cost-effective, year-round management and maintenance of parks and facilities, aquatics, gymnastics, community recreation, youth and adult sports, and senior citizen programs.

Description

Stafford Coutny Parks and Receation is the local public parks and recreation department for the county of Stafford, VA. We offer recreation basis programs for pre-schoolers through senior citizens. Activities include: instructional classes, gymnastics, martial arts, summer camps, special events, sports, and trips. The Department maintains 1,080 acres of park land. Major parks include: Curtis Memorial, Autumn Ridge, Smith Lake, Duff McDuff, Patawomeck, St. Clair Brooks, Pratt, and Willowmere Parks. The Department also manages two swimming pools: Woodlands and Curtis. Recreation Centers include: Stafford Gymnastics and Recreation Center, Courthouse Community Center, Ray Grizzle Center and the Rowser Complex. The Rowser Complex is also home to our Senior Citzen Center.
