The YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities needs mentors to support students in the Multicultural Achievers Program, a college access and career readiness program that prepares students for their future. We currently are serving close to 100 students and are in need of your support, caring, and expertise!

Students attend weekly meetings where they explore topics such as the college application process, financial literacy, and personal development. Mentors attend one of the weekly meetings, help lead small-group discussions, and offer students individualized help and attention.

Here's what some of our students from last year had to say about the program. "I was very happy because I am a YMCA member. This program is very good for me. It also showed me how to become a person who is successful for the future."

Another student writes, "Multicultural Achievers impacted my life a lot. I like it because I have an opportunity to meet with others, to know about college, and to know how to apply for college. Thank you for working with us."

The YMCA is looking for individuals who are able to support students and share their own college and career experiences. Successful volunteers are supportive and encouraging, willing listeners, patient, flexible, and respectful of individual differences.

This is a GREAT opportunity to support youth and connect with the community!
