Mission:

The Foundation for the Preservation of the American Family (FPAF) is committed to increasing access to information and resources for families addressing problems that undermine their survival. Through our website we provide research, information and a venue for families to document success stories. The FPAF facilitates strategy sharing, collaboration and the navigation of agencies and resources, establishing a vital community where families can help themselves and each other.

Vision:

We envision the FPAF reaching every family in need of information, access to services, and a desire to communicate with one another nationwide and beyond. In addition, we hope that the existence of the FPAF will provide a critical resource for other agencies and organizations seeking to locate answers to difficult questions facing families.

The Foundation for the Preservation of the American Family is looking for three professionals to join its voluntary Board of Directors. The FPAF 's Board of Directors develops and promotes innovative ideas to increase its annual profit. In addition, the Board is responsible for overseeing, developing, and evaluating the programs, services, and fiscal health of the agency.

We are seeking individuals who are committed and dedicated to ensuring the fulfillment of the organization's mission and vision by actively attending scheduled board meetings, promoting the FPAF amongst colleagues, professional networks and in their communities, assisting with developing business opportunities, and lending their expertise and time.

Qualifications:

We are currently seeking three individuals each of who would possess one of the following sets of characteristics:

• Retired or semi-retired professional with extensive experience and connections in business circles, who would bring business approach to the table. Experience in running a small business is preferred.
• A person who has done a lot of charity work and has extensive connections in Los Angeles community, amongst community organizers and nonprofit agencies.
• An attorney currently working in nonprofit/small business/corporate law who is able to give proper legal advice and will ensure we are adhering to applicable federal, state and local laws in governance of specific projects and the organization as a whole.
