The American Diabetes Association Orange County Office is looking for volunteers for our signature fundraising event: Step Out: Walk to Fight Diabetes. One out of every three children born today is expected to be diagnosed with diabetes. The following opportunities are exciting ways to participate in raising awareness and funds for diabetes research, information and advocacy.

Planning Committee Volunteers will meet about once a month and more frequently as we approach the event. These volunteers will be responsible for helping with every aspect of the event including recruiting teams and individual walkers to participate, sponsorship and all of the day event logistics including: communications, safety & signage, scouting the route and route safety, assisting in securing food donations, organizing vendors, planning the start location and finish line set up, hospitality, registration and more.

Step Out Street Team Volunteers these volunteers will reach out to the community through brochure and poster distributions, and booths at local community events i.e. the swap meet and retail centers, concerts in the park. We ask these volunteers commit between 3-5 hours either on a Saturday or Sunday or even sometimes on weekday evening.

Day of the Event Volunteers On October 10 th there are many ways you can help as an integral part of our Step Out Walk, Including: Managing Registration, event hospitality, donations, diabetes advocacy, recycling, food and beverages at the event, raffle prizes, and entertainment.
