  • 9 people are interested

Volunteers are needed in the following areas:

Fence Building Team Member

Roll up your sleeves and pick up a tool! Within a few short hours you will see the transformation from a dog on the end of a chain to an excited dog running around in his newly constructed fence. You won't want to miss this experience!

Transportation Committee

Before we can unchain a dog, he/she will have to be neutered/spayed. Many owners will be working or will not have access to an automobile to bring their pet in for this procedure. We need people with some TLC to transport the dogs the vet.

Fundraising Committee

This committee will meet periodically throughout the year to brainstorm ideas for events and ways to gain more attention for P.U.P, call on local businesses for donations, etc

Grant Writing Committee

Research all possible avenues for grants (local, state and national levels) and prepare and submit grants for P.U.P.

Mission Statement

People United for Pets, P.U.P., was established by a group of women who understand the need for a new and innovative approach to educating our community, especially our youth about the responsibilities of owning an animal and providing for their basic needs. We will accomplish this by identifying chained dogs within the City of Raleigh and providing rabies vaccinations, spay and neuter options, and an appropriate sized fenced-in area to free the dogs from their chains.

Description

People United for Pets provides free spay and neuter options and an appropriate fenced-in area to low-income families and their chained dogs. There are many opportunties for volunteers.
