Camp Korey is looking for enthusiastic camp counselors Summer 2009.
The mission of Camp Korey is to honor the courage, strength, and determination of children and their families who battle life threatening and serious illnesses; and to provide them with a safe, friendly, medically sound environment in which to simply have fun and be kids.
Camp Korey is free of charge to the campers and their families. The week of camp is an experience where they are able to have fun without worrying about their medical condition. Camp Korey is a truly magical place, and it is the counselors that create that magic.
During the summer of 2009, we will be hosting the following sessions of camp:
July 27-31: Camp for Children with Facial Differences (ages 7-11)
August 3-7: Camp for Children with Facial Differences (ages 12-16)
August 10-14: Camp for Children with Mitochondrial Disease
August 17-21: Camp for Children with Liver Transplants
August 24-28: General Session (mixed medical conditions)
For more detailed information about the volunteer opportunities available during camp, and an application, please contact Laura Gehmen at lgehmen@campkorey.org.

Mission Statement
Camp Korey's mission is to honor the courage, strength and determination of children and their families living with life-altering medical conditions by providing them with a transformational experience in a fun, safe camp environment with specialized medical support.
Description
Camp Korey offers children and families an escape from the endless medical treatments that have overshadowed childhood. Campers grow stronger, braver, and build leadership skills that they take into their everyday lives. Our campers have reported an increase in self-esteem, confidence and resilience, along with a network of friends and support to help them through the tough times. We work with a dedicated team of medical professionals and program facilitators to create a medically safe camp adventure. Camp is always free to campers and their families, thanks to our volunteers, donors and supporters.
