Help to prepare, plant, maintain and harvest garden on farm in Madison, PA. Produce, including tomatoes, peppers, cabbage, corn, green beans, is then distributed through Operation Fresh Express program to the needy in Westmoreland County. Volunteers are needed on Monday evenings, but could be postponed to another weekday evening due to weather. Port-a-john and graveled parking available. Work as many hours as you like between 4:30-9 p.m. weather permitting. Please call Lyn Hunter, Hunger Garden Volunteer Coordinator at 724-744-4961 to volunteer.

Description
The Westmoreland County Food Bank is a private, not-for profit organization that supplies food to hungry people through a network of assistance programs in Westmoreland County. Our 40,000 square foot facility is located in Delmont. We serve over 7,000 disadvantaged families each month through our network of 44 pantries and 20 agencies throughout Westmoreland County. We utilize approximately 6500 total volunteers a year to help us with our mission.
