Companionship needed for hospice patients

Intrepid Hospice realizes that our volunteers are the heart of what we do, and we need your help!

We are searching for individuals with kind hearts who we could match with our hospice patients. We understand that asking you to make friends with someone who is facing the end of their life is difficult, but we promise you that it is rewarding for both our patients and for you.

As their volunteer, you would meet with your assigned patient 1-2 times a month, as your schedule allows, to be their friend and provide companionship.

We currently need volunteers in Terre Haute and many surrounding areas.

We have patients at different stages- some will love to play a game with you, talk about current events and their family, then we have special cases where they may not be able to respond to you, but you will know that by holding their hand, reading, singing to them or just talking to them that you are making a difference.

Requirements- All volunteers need to be 18 years of age and older, agree to us giving you a tb test (if you haven't had one in the last year), agree to us running a background criminal history check and have a covid vaccination or agree to apply for a health or religious exemption through us. There is never any financial cost for you to volunteer for us- we pay for everything.

No experience needed, training will be provided.
