Good Shepherd Hospice needs sewing volunteers to create Remembrance Bears as treasured keepsakes for hospice families following the loss of their loved one. Many bears have been made and delivered to our Hospice families over the years, and the requests remain high. Work from home and on your own time frame. A bear pattern along with a special piece of fabric selected by the family in honor of their loved one is provided. Adding your own special touches and details is encouraged. Once completed, a special "Bear Delivery" is made to the family with a card signed by you and the hospice team. Bears serve as a sweet and huggable reminder of a grandparent, spouse, parent, brother, sister or other loved one. Please lend your sewing talents to our efforts to provide a wonderful gift to our hospice families! Contact Pamela Roberts, Volunteer Coordinator, at 816-822-2292 or pamela.roberts@goodshepherdhospice.com and help touch families in a special, creative way they will always remember.

Description

COMPASSIONATE ABOUT CARE. passionate about life.

At Good Shepherd Hospice, we believe that health care is more than just a diagnosis and a treatment. It's a daily exercise in making this moment...this today...the very best it can be. We're here to help our patients achieve that goal - physically, mentally, spiritually...and for whatever that means individually.

We believe that in the passing of a person’s life, there are also extraordinary opportunities for compassion, reconciliation, spiritual healing, and renewal.

Our Volunteers play a vital role in our Hospice program. From working in the office, to creating special projects at home, to visiting to provide companionship and ease lonliness, Good Shepherd Hospice Volunteers make special moments happen again and again for the patients and families we serve.
