Do you have a love for film and want to help a great organization? We are in need of volunteers to help us prepare for the 2016 Austin Film Festival & Conference, October 13 - 20. Each year, the enthusiasm, commitment and hard work of volunteers enable the Festival to pursue its mission of celebrating the writer at the heart of the process of filmmaking.

As a volunteer, you’ll get the opportunity to immerse yourself in such varied departments as registration, theater operations, conference, hospitality and transportation, all while working with a wonderful staff.

Volunteering with Austin Film Festival is a unique opportunity to work hard, gain valuable event management experience, earn community service hours, network and have fun while supporting the mission of a pioneering nonprofit organization dedicated to championing the work of aspiring and established filmmakers.

AFF volunteer opportunities are gearing up now! If you are interested, contact our Rob Gonzalez our Volunteer Manager!

About Austin Film Festival

Mission Statement

The Austin Film Festival is dedicated to championing the work of aspiring and established filmmakers, defined as screenwriters, directors, editors, producers, actors and all artists who use the language of film to tell a story. The AFF furthers the art, craft and business of filmmaking by providing unique cultural events and services, enhancing public awareness and participation and encouraging dynamic and long-lasting community partnerships.

Description

Austin Film Festival furthers the art and craft of filmmaking by inspiring and championing the work of screenwriters, filmmakers and all artists who use the language of film to tell a story.

What AFF is probably best known for around the world is its annual October Austin Film Festival & Conference.

The Film Festival & Conference was the first event of its kind to take the lead in bringing professional and amateur screenwriters (and now filmmakers) together to celebrate the role of the screenplay in filmmaking and discuss the considerable creative possibilities of writing for film and television. Equally important, the Conference brought producers, agents and screenwriters together to foster the sale of screenplays and launch long-term successful careers.

Hundreds of writers’ groups, services and festivals have followed the Conference’s model over the past ten years, reinforcing the value of its continuing mission to recognize the art of screenwriting.
