Job description

As a Donor Relations team member, you’ll be responsible for ensuring long-term relationships are developed and sustained with highly interested individuals and corporations who support the betterment of global primary education. You will grow the investment of existing supporters, as well as build a generous community of donors, ranging from entry-level donors to high net worth and corporate donors while providing full-transparency into our 100% model. You’ll spend most of your time sustaining and growing our donor base and ensuring that the team meets and exceeds its annual revenue targets.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • As a member of the team, you will work alongside the front-line fundraising team to achieve its collective annual revenue goals

  • You’ll be integral to executing strategies focused on new acquisition and repeatable growth for major donors giving to Brighter Children as well as our core operations

  • You’ll build a robust portfolio of major gift supporters and engage people who have never been involved with Brighter Children

  • You’ll strategize to cultivate long-term key relationships, encouraging individuals to participate at new and increased levels, to involve their networks, and to optimize their lifetime value as investors

  • You’ll analyze supporter data to find new opportunities and ensure all activities are measurable to drive efficiency and maximize results

  • You’ll deliver an exceptional experience for all Brighter Children supporters and facilitate strong relationships between them and the organization

  • You’ll coordinate and facilitate communication between our partner schools and our donor bases by collecting and sharing information / reports on the students donors choose to sponsor

MUST-HAVES

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Living and working in the greater New York City area

  • Relevant fundraising or sales experience

  • An incredible passion for our mission that invigorates and excites everyone with whom you share it

  • Outstanding communication skills, articulate and persuasive, with well-honed relationship building skills

  • Drive and sophistication, excited by the opportunity to help shape the future of the fundraising department and the organization as a whole

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with the presence and personal style to represent the organization to multiple constituents
