ORGANIZATION: VEAP- Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People

VEAP (Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People) is a basic needs organization whose programs include access to healthy foods, social services, housing stability, and supportive services. Together, we create pathways to stronger, more hopeful, communities.

VEAP enlists the help of over 3,000 volunteers each year to ensure the smooth running of our Food Pantry and other services. Join us in this work as a Lobby Intake Volunteer!

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Check-in clients for food pantry and other services; assist clients with filling out paperwork as needed; provide information about VEAP’s services or other services in the community; enter service details in database;

QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to multi-task; ability to be patient, diplomatic and communicate with a diverse range of people; ability to work in a fast-paced environment; Strong customer service skills. On the job training and support is provided by experienced, knowledgeable staff and volunteers.

Description

VEAP is a basic needs and social services organization whose programs promote access to healthy foods, stable housing and transportation. VEAP’s programs are designed to address a particular need and when used together provide hope and can help avoid a financial crisis such as loss of housing, transportation or employment. Whether the hardship is from a disability, job transition, or the financial and physical stresses of aging, VEAP has been helping our neighbors in need for over 40 years in Bloomington, Richfield, and Edina.
