We need a few dedicated adults (age 20+) to serve as ongoing Boy Scout leaders for our troop of refugee youth, by helping with weekly meetings, weekend campouts and outings to the mountains, logistics, rides for youth, being a mentor, etc. This is for someone who wants to really get involved with a few hours a week and occasional 1-2 full days (and nights) on a weekend. Past Scout experience helps but not necessary. This is a very unique opportunity for someone wanting to get involved closely with this population. Look up "Boy Scout Troop 1532" on facebook if interested!

Mission Statement
A Boy Scout Troop for (former) refugees.
Description
We are a tradition Boy Scout Troop with 20+ (and counting) boys who are all refugees. They arrived in the U.S. in the last few months or years from Burma, Malaysia, Nepal, DRC, Afghanistan, or other war torn countries. We are located in the Mango House in Aurora, a building full of refugee services. We are applying traditional scouting (camp, patrols, advancement) to a low income setting with cultural barriers. This means we pick up alot of boys for meetings,
