The American Lung Association is holding the 57th Caesar Rodney ½ Marathon & 5k on Sunday, March 22nd. The race is the oldest half marathon in the country and is a historic Delaware running tradition! The race draw roughly 2,000 participants, and therefore requires a significant amount of volunteers to help produce a successful and safe race.
Volunteer positions include: Registration Table, Volunteer Check-in Desk, Bag Drop-off, Food Prep Tent, Base Race Camp Set-up/Break Down, and course marshals (volunteers who help runners navigate any oncoming cars/traffic). All volunteers would need to check-in at the base camp in Rodney Square at the time assigned to their volunteer job (would be a 3 to 4 hour shift between the hours of 6am-1pm). After the last runners have passed through the course, all volunteers are asked to return their supplies and materials back to base camp at volunteer check-in, and to provide a report if needed (if any incidents occurred).
Volunteers will be provided with verification and proof of meritorious hours served (upon request), and will each receive a complimentary ALA Caesar Rodney 1/2 Marathon & 5k Volunteer item AND will be provided with access to the complimentary race food court (AFTER all runners have eaten).
We hope you will consider fulfilling one of our many important roles, as a volunteer, for our upcoming Caesar Rodney Half Marathon & 5k!
