World Animal Net is seeking a volunteer to assist in the maintenance of the World Animal Net Directory of Animal Protection Organizations. This directory contains the contact information for over 17,000 organizations around the world (see: http://worldanimal.net/directory). The regional research volunteer will be responsible for verifying existing contact information for animal protection organizations in specific geographic areas around the world, as well as researching, identifying, and adding new organizations to the directory. During the course of this work, the volunteer will also examine the programs and campaigns of animal protection organizations, identifying effective and innovative campaigns and outlining their development, methods, and successes.

The ideal candidate will have basic knowledge of animal protection issues (including animals in research and entertainment, wildlife, companion animals, working animals, and farm animals) and has an interest in learning more about animal protection in a specific region. Individuals who speak a second language are especially welcome to apply. The position will require strong attention to detail and some technical proficiency.
