World Animal Net is seeking a volunteer to assist in the maintenance of the World Animal Net Directory of Animal Protection Organizations. This directory contains the contact information for over 17,000 organizations around the world (see: http://worldanimal.net/directory). The regional research volunteer will be responsible for verifying existing contact information for animal protection organizations in specific geographic areas around the world, as well as researching, identifying, and adding new organizations to the directory. During the course of this work, the volunteer will also examine the programs and campaigns of animal protection organizations, identifying effective and innovative campaigns and outlining their development, methods, and successes.
The ideal candidate will have basic knowledge of animal protection issues (including animals in research and entertainment, wildlife, companion animals, working animals, and farm animals) and has an interest in learning more about animal protection in a specific region. Individuals who speak a second language are especially welcome to apply. The position will require strong attention to detail and some technical proficiency. The work can be done remotely, but you will work with staff based in Boulder, Colorado. To learn more about the directory and our work, please visit our website.

Mission Statement
World Animal Net's mission is to improve the status and welfare of animals worldwide by offering the animal protection community information, expertise and new opportunities to connect, collaborate, and campaign for change.
Description
World Animal Net is a unique organization working for animals worldwide. We accomplish this work through two main approaches:
- By providing resources to animal protection organizations on public policy, humane education, effective campaigning, collaboration and coalition building, and more. By providing these resources we empower organizations to work more effectively, address the root causes of animal suffering and create sustainable positive change in the treatment of animals.
- By advocating for animals on an international level at the World Organisation for Animal Health, the United Nations, the World Bank, and more.
The majority of WAN's outreach occurs online, which is why volunteers who can help us expand our online presence and connect with the organizations we serve are crucial to our mission. We truly appreciate our volunteers and are so grateful for their support.
