San Diego Canyonlands
Our logo features the threatened California gnatcatcher, a denizen of our canyons. Our work helps restore the habitat for this species and many others on the brink of extinction.

Join the Friends of 47th St Canyon as we remove invasive plants, excess brush, and debris from a restoration area to be planted this winter.

Help us to create a healthy habitat for for wildlife and a safe place for recreation in the City Heights community of San Diego.

Wear sturdy shoes, long pants and a hat. Tools and gloves are provided.

We can provide community service hours documentation to volunteers who need it.

About San Diego Canyonlands

Location:

3040 Browning Street, San Diego, CA 92106, US

Mission Statement

San Diego Canyonlands' mission is to promote, protect and restore the natural habitats in San Diego County's canyons and creeks. We do this by fostering education and ongoing community involvement in stewardship and advocacy, and by collaborating with other organizations.

Description

During the monthly events, we would like volunteers to help us remove trash, invasive non-native plants, plant native plants in restoration sites, maintain trails, and do other exciting work to enhance the canyon. Our urban canyons and creeks are critical to the health of the San Diego ecosystems.
