Mission Statement
The Southeast Veterans Service Center (SEVSC) and Chesapeake Veterans House (CVH) transitional housing program provides an extensive list of services for homeless veterans eighteen years and older. Primary is safe, clean temporary housing and hot meals. Additional services include case management for assistance in addressing issues that may be impeding a veteran’s ability to secure and maintain permanent housing: mental and substance abuse counseling, medical support via an onsite VA clinic; dental referrals; employment counseling, skill development workshops teaching computer literacy in the onsite computer lab covering resume writing and other processes needed for job and housing searches.
The support program also provides transportation, barber services, credit management, financial planning, and housing counseling. These are conducted through partnerships with Lydia’s House and a work- readiness support partnership with US Vets.
Description
