At Yesler Community Center, The Big-Brained Superheroes Club, in partnership with RecTech, is working to teach, learn, and hone our superhero skills. Your mission is to help kids ages 5-15 improve their academic abilities while developing a language for and concrete awareness of some of their superpowers (aka "soft skills"), such as Leadership, Teamwork, Creativity, and Critical Thinking.
Your immeasurable moxie and big brain are needed at official Club meetings on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4pm to 6pm at Yesler Community Center. But, if you want to inject your own superhero talents into Club development, we can use your help now!

The Yesler Learning Center provides residents of Yesler Terrace Garden and the surrounding community with a nurturing, safe, culturally sensitive environment where they are offered practical knowledge and skills in the use of electronic technology and the English language -- tools for life-long learning and personal and community empowerment.
Description
The Yesler Learning Center was founded in September of 2000, under the auspices of the Seattle Community Technology Alliance (SCTA), a collaborative effort of the Seattle Public Library, Seattleâ??s Department of Information Technology, The Seattle Housing Authority, Seattle department of parks and recreation and several other community organizations and corporate partners. It is located in the Yesler Terrace Garden public housing project in a neighborhood with a high population of recent immigrants and refugees from Africa.
