TEAM TO END AIDS (T2) , an endurance training program, is currently recruiting volunteers to represent T2 at the Rock 'n’ Roll USA Marathon and Half Marathon on Saturday, March 17th.
T2 is hosting a WATER STOP at Bryant and North Capitol Streets. Volunteers herewill assist with the set-up of the station and the distribution of water and Gatorade to runners of the Rock 'n’ Roll USA race. For planning purposes, volunteers will be needed from approximately 6:30 am until 10:30 am. Come out and support runners from across DC and the nation as they run through OUR neighborhoods! Experience the excitement of a world class event in our own backyard.
If watching others run inspires you take on your own challenge, all volunteers are eligible to receive a $25 discount on a 2012 T2 registration fee AND a $25 fundraising credit towards your 2012 T2 race! The roster of events for 2012 include the Luray Triathlon, the sold-out Chicago Marathon, the Baltimore Running Festival, the Marine Corps Marathon and the Honolulu Marathon! Additionally, all volunteers will receive a shirt to wear on race day and the satisfaction of helping runners as well as promoting awareness for HIV/AIDS in our city!
A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR ALL AGES! Prior to Race Day, we will have a Volunteer Meet and Greet and brief information meeting to distribute t-shirts, describe the timeline for the day and answer any questions.
If you have additional questions or would like to sign up as a T2 volunteer please contact Anna Bavier at 202.408.4848 x 260 or via email at abavier@aidsunited.org.
Thanks!

Mission Statement
TEAM TO END AIDS supports the life-saving work of AIDS United and the Washington AIDS Partnership (an AIDS United community partner) by helping to raise funds to support programs and services that change lives in the District of Columbia and around the country.
The mission of AIDS United is to end the AIDS epidemic in the United States. We will achieve this goal through national, regional and local policy/advocacy, strategic grantmaking, and organizational capacity building. With partners throughout the country, we will work to ensure that people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS have access to the prevention and care services they need and deserve.
Description
The creation of AIDS United combines private-sector fundraising, philanthropy, coalition building, public policy expertise, and advocacy -- as well as a network of passionate local and state partners -- to most effectively and efficiently respond to the epidemic in the communities most impacted by it.
Through its unique Community Partnerships program and targeted special grantmaking initiatives, AIDS United supports more than 400 grassroots organizations annually that provide HIV prevention, care and support services to underserved individuals and populations most impacted by the HIV/AIDS epidemic including communities of color, women and people living with HIV/AIDS in the U.S. South.
AIDS United advocates for people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS and the organizations that serve them. AIDS United's policy staff has been instrumental in the development and implementation of major public health policies that improve the quality of life for those living with HIV/AIDS and ensure evidence based prevention programs to stop the spread of new infections.
