Mission Statement
Radio Eye is dedicated to broadcasting the reading of current newspapers and other printed materials to visually impaired and print-disabled residents of Kentucky, and to producing quality programming designed to help those individuals lead enriched, productive, and independent lives. Volunteer readers provide listeners with equal access to dozens of newspapers, magazines, and special programming to offset the impact of sight loss or physical disability that prevents them from reading printed matter. Programs are broadcast 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to alleviate isolation and improve the quality of life for print-disabled listeners.
Description
Radio Eye is a 24-hour Radio Reading Service, providing free reading services and special programming through SCA radio, cable TV, NFB-Newsline, iBlink smartphone app, and internet broadcasts. Reaching into thousands of Kentucky homes, hospitals, and group settings, the service brings the printed word to individuals who may be isolated or homebound due to vision loss or disabling health conditions.
Radio Eye’s dedicated volunteers cost-effectively provide listeners with up-to-date printed news and information, helping them to be knowledgeable and intellectually active citizens.
